Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, May 12, 2010, is a special day. It is the 1st birthday of our Oxford Forum of Science and Technology (OX-FOST), a forum gathering your contributions and enthusiasm.
The OX-FOST was established one year ago on 12 May 2009, initiated and founded by several research fellows and visiting scholars (listed following) from different departments in the University of Oxford. The forum has been regularly organized (2~3 speakers once a month, with 30-min talk and 5 questions maximum for each talk) at the Abbots kitchen Lecture Room, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, University of Oxford.
The OX-FOST has more than 30 members now. In its early stage, the participants of OXFOST were mainly Chinese Scientists who working, studying or visiting at the University of Oxford. Later, many international scholars were absorbed into the forum to promote the potential collaborations, today in Oxford then being international in the future.
The aim of our forum is to promote multi-disciplinary collaborations within Oxford through contributing our intelligence to Oxford, UK, China and the world. We believe our efforts would finally bridge more scientific connections between UK and China, and even all over the world in the near future!
Today, we would like to celebrate the first anniversary of the OXFOST with our members currently working at Oxford or at other places worldwide.
Today, on behalf of the committee of the OXFOST, I deeply appreciate you for your great supports, helps, and passions from each of you in the first year!
Today, let us recall the brilliant seminars, days and months we spent together in the Oxford.
Today, let us put our hands together wherever we are!
